Just one to two percent of the total global population has natural red hair, so when I read the news about a European redhead parade taking place in Favignana at the beginning of June, I practically fell out of my chair with excitement. The photographer Juliette Abitbol and I created a fashion photo story around the parade through an editorial inside a reportage, set on the beautiful Sicilian island. The best approach was to exhibit contrast between the local island event with the glamorous, shiny looks of the model Benedetta. The goal was to show Benedetta as an intruder among this unique island of redheaded women.
